Day 19

That was a long haul.. 35km seemed like a hundred. The road just kept going and going.. Uphill downhill.. We are exhausted. Didn't get into our albergue until 4pm. Phew. But we made it.. And the place is adorable. I made a puppy friend :) their golden retriever is a dream. They offered me to take him for a walk! I couldn't walk another step so lots of pats and scratches will suffice.

Our Kathleen took the bus part way and met us here.. She went out to get groceries while we showered and did laundry. We made another awesome meal.. So good. And so cheap. Tomorrow we will have a nice easy day and already have reservations so we can take our sweet time.

Mom broke one of her trekking poles today.. So when we got to our albergue tonight she asked if they had any that pilgrims had left. He gave her one and said I just fixed it you keep it! Ohhh camino you are so good. One less thing to worry about.

We did take time to smell the roses, check out the sheep(complete with Shepard and dog), view the vineyards and eat cherries. There are cherries everywhere.. Sold on every corner.

A new record.. We haven't been in a bakery in 3 days! Yay us. Could have used one today but wasn't about to take one extra step. Still spending time on blister management. And we forgot to tell you that we are going to the riveria for a week to fix our tan lines... Kidding! Can't wait to come home and see all of you

Our flights are booked back to Paris and we will have one night there to explore-- we have both been before so trying to decide what to do for that short but sweet time

See y'all tomorrow!! Xo

  1. I can't imagine walking 35 km's in a day. You guys are crazy but awesome. Love the photo of the cala lilies. They are oh so beautiful.
Keep up the good work or should I say walk. Miss ya and looking forward to going to a bakery here when you get back. All thought I don't think the bakeries are here what they are over there. B & L xoxo

  2. Wow, you two have had quite the adventure. Love all the pictures. Really impressed with your stamina. Morgan, happy your foot is better. Audrey, I've been entertaining myself on walks with my iPod. Looking forward to your return. We'll have lots to talk about on our walks.
